GIDRM Day: Practical applications of NMR in industry

Strengthening the dialogue between industry, academia, and research in magnetic resonance

On 14 May 2026, Stelar SRL participated in the GIDRM Day “Practical Applications of NMR in Industry”, held at the CNR research area in Bologna.

The event brought together experts from industry, academia, and research institutions with the goal of exploring how Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) is currently being applied to solve real industrial challenges, while fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange across sectors.

A day dedicated to real-world applications of NMR

The GIDRM Day focused on the practical role of NMR in industrial environments, highlighting how magnetic resonance techniques are increasingly used in areas such as:

  • Pharmaceutical analysis and drug development
  • Food science and quality control
  • Materials and polymer characterization
  • Advanced chemical and structural analysis
  • Process monitoring and industrial validation

Throughout the day, participants shared case studies, methodological approaches, and validation strategies demonstrating how NMR is moving from research environments into routine industrial workflows.

The program included contributions from leading companies and research groups, with presentations covering a wide range of applications.

Networking and collaboration at the CNR Bologna

Beyond the scientific sessions, the event provided an important opportunity for networking and informal exchange between participants.

Researchers and industry professionals engaged in discussions on current challenges, emerging applications, and future directions for NMR technologies in industrial contexts.

The visit to the CNR-ISOF laboratories further enriched the experience, offering direct insight into ongoing research activities and instrumentation developments.

Stelar’s role and engagement

Stelar’s participation in the GIDRM Day reflects our continued commitment to supporting the adoption of NMR technologies in real industrial applications and strengthening collaboration between scientific research and industry.

Events like this are essential to foster innovation, accelerate technology transfer, and promote dialogue between different sectors of the NMR community.

Thank you, as always, to GIDRM and to all the organizers!
